FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a molten-cast refractory which can be used as a nozzle element for glass furnace generators, e.g. for melting sodium-calcium glass, operating in reducing conditions. The disclosed refractory has the following average chemical composition by mass (in wt % with respect to oxides): 25%<MgO<30%; 70%<Al2O3<75%; other substances <1% and overall porosity greater than 10%, which is completely composed of pores with a tubular shape. The refractory contains more than 97% spinel crystals in form of column-type crystals, having preferred orientation in a direction essentially perpendicular to the curing front. Said refractory is obtained by melting the starting mixture until obtaining a melt, followed by drip moulding and curing by cooling.
EFFECT: high resistance of the refractory to corrosion by alkaline condensates and to temperature change.
