FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method of mechanical testing for electric cable at low temperature consists in that mechanical effect is provided by wind pressure simulation by means of the device comprising two racks with installed test specimen of a cable, two loads and load generator, while temperature is selected mainly from the permitted range of negative operating temperature in centigrade for respective cable. The device used for testing of electric cable for impact of wind pressure at low temperature consists of cold chamber that implements mechanical effect and the tested specimen of an electric cable. The above device is a wind pressure simulator.

EFFECT: performance of testing in operation-oriented conditions, performance of accelerated life cycle testing.
