FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: sensor includes an independent electric power supply, a voltage converter and an rpm sensor. The above sensor is equipped with a programmable logic integral circuit (PLIC) with a programmed diagnostics algorithm of sensor assemblies and a control algorithm, and a power modulator connected to the rpm sensor. The sensor operating mode is characterised by the fact that in PLIC there generated is a primarily modulated signal that is transmitted to the power modulator. Voltage modulated with a signal from PLIC is supplied to the rpm sensor and primarily modulated voltage is converted to primarily modulated light flux that is secondarily modulated by passing it through slots of a drum brought into rotation with a measurement object. The secondarily modulated light flux that has passed through slots is converted with a photoreceiver into a secondarily modulated electric signal that is supplied to PLIC, where as per the specified algorithm angular speed and angular movements are calculated.

EFFECT: invention allows reducing power consumption and improving resolutional ability of a sensor.
