FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: optical fibre connecting device has a first switching board having a first set of optical fibre connectors lying along the front surface of the first switching board, and a second switching board, having a second set of optical fibre connectors lying along the front surface of the second switching board. The first and second switching boards are in an a stacked assembly, where the second set of optical fibre connectors is displaced from the first set of optical fibre connectors in a first direction and a second direction across the stacking direction. The method of assembling the optical fibre connecting device comprises steps of stacking the first switching board, having a first set of optical fibre connectors, and the second switching board, having a second set of optical fibre connectors.
EFFECT: high efficiency of distributing optical fibres.
