FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal display panel, having a matrix substrate which includes: an insulating substrate, having a display region and a surrounding region; switching elements arranged into a matrix on the insulating substrate; pixel electrodes arranged into a matrix in the display region of the insulating substrate and connected to the switching elements; and driving circuits for driving the switching elements. The driving circuits are provided in the surrounding region and include a plurality of column groups arranged in the direction from the peripheral side of the insulating substrate to the display region. Each of the column groups has a longitudinal side along the peripheral side of the insulating substrate and has a plurality of row groups which correspond to rows of the pixel electrodes arranged into a matrix, and each has a plurality of driving elements. A plurality of main lines pass along the peripheral side of the insulating substrate in the surrounding region. At least one of the main lines is provided between neighbouring column groups; branching lines provided in the surrounding region, each connecting a main line with a driving element; and connecting lines, each passing from a branching line of interest for electrical connection of the branching line of interest to a driving element provided in a row group different from the row group where there is a driving element connected to the branching line of interest.
