FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and specifically solid oxide composite electrolytes, and can be used in moderate- and high-temperature electrochemical devices. The solid electrolyte based on cerium oxide and barium cerate, doped with samarium, has composition which corresponds to the formula xBaCe0.8Sm0.2O3-δ-(1-x)Ce0.8Sm0.2O2-δ, where x=0.3, 0.5, 0.7.
EFFECT: wider range of solid electrolytes based on cerium oxide and barium cerate, having high thermodynamic stability in the presence of water vapour and carbon dioxide gas, while maintaining or increasing the level of ion conductivity.
