SUBSTANCE: power control method involves: calculating transmission power of user equipment (UE), when the UE transmits data on multiple carriers; and performing power compression on each carrier, either in steps according to properties of each carrier, or synchronously according to the compression coefficient when transmission power of the UE exceeds a preset maximum transmission power. A power control apparatus is further provided.

EFFECT: controlling transmission power of user equipment in multi-carrier mode.
