METHOD OF EXAMINING SOFT TISSUES OF PARA-ARTICULAR ZONE IN ENDOPROSTHETICS OF HIP JOINT Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B8/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnostics in traumatology. Method includes carrying out ultrasonic examination of soft tissues in order to identify hypoechgenic zones and liquid content. Sensors in range 5-13 MHz are used. Examination is carried out in projection of neck-endocapsular zone of endoprosthesis on 2-6 day after operation. Thickness of hypoechogenic zone with liquid content is determined as anterior-posterior dimension of zone, limited by anterior surface of endoprosthesis neck and surface, limiting maximal bulging of wall of restored capsule of hip joint. In case if zone thickness is to 2.0 cm, hematoma of post-operative period without any significant clinical manifestations is diagnosed. Zone thickness greater than 2.0 cm characterizes hematoma, which can cause post-operative complication.

EFFECT: method prevents development of post-operative complications.
