FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics and is used for diagnosing periprosthetic hematomas following a shoulder joint replacement. It is followed with ultrasonic locating of hypoechoic soft tissue zones using a linear sensor with frequency of 5-12 MHz. Hypoechoic zones are located by applying a sensor on the skin along the lateral surface of the shoulder joint from the acromion of the scapula along the deltoid muscle fibers. Beams are directed in the plane of the body of the scapula, the hypoechoic zone is located in the subacromial region to determine the distance from the contour of the hemisphere of the reversible endoprosthesis to the surface limiting maximal swelling of the medial edge of the deltoid muscle. If the distance is not more than 1.5 cm, then conclusion is made on the presence of postoperative hematoma with no significant clinical manifestations, and if more than 1.5 cm, it is concluded on the expressed hemarthrosis and the need for additional invasive medical manipulations or correction of the anticoagulant drug therapy.
EFFECT: method enables to prevent postoperative complications in the patients following the reversal shoulder replacement due to determining the distance from the hemisphere contour of the reversible endoprosthesis to the surface limiting maximum swelling of the medial edge of the deltoid muscle.
