SUBSTANCE: method involves the stages, at which sequence of control periods with duration T is pre-set, disturbing service operations on the electrolysis unit are identified, which can add excess alumina to an electrolytic bath, performance of disturbing service operations is fixed, supply speed B(k') is determined at control for each control period k', and the installed supply speed SR(k') equal to M(k')×B(k') is set, where M(k') is pre-determined modulation coefficient that modulates supply speed B(k') at control so that reduction of needs of electrolysis unit, which is caused by excess alumina, can be reduced.

EFFECT: reduction of rate of occurrence of anode effects.
