FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: gas-discharge switchboard includes a gas-filled tight housing with a cathode and an anode, which are located in it and made in the form of a shell enclosing a discharge area, and in the form of a grid, with a gap relative to each other. An insulator is installed in the housing between lead-ins of the cathode and the abnode. The housing is filled with working gas consisting of helium and/or neon with additives of hydrogen in the amounts leading to preferable hydrogen ionisation, with pressure of 0.05 to 0.5 torr.

EFFECT: owing to the above hydrogen additives to working gas there provided is increase of switching speed and achievement of possibility of switching of high-voltage electric pulses with subnanosecond rise front.
