FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: gas-discharge commutator relates to electronic engineering and can be used in designing pulse devices. In the switch housing there is the first discharge structure in the cathode and mesh anode, which are installed with respect to each other with the gap equidistantly. On the axis of the first discharge structure there is a second discharge structure in the cathode of said first discharge structure and an anode of the commutator located outside the housing of the dielectric capillary structure. Dielectric capillary structure is realized in the form of dielectric body with through hole, providing flow through structure of volumetric electric current and characterized by discretely variable size of cross-section area, receiving values s1 and s2 with s1>s2, made in the number of j sections with cross section area s1 and i of sections with cross section area s2, alternating with respect to each other with formation due to sections with cross section of smaller size s2 of current conducting discharge capillary channel, and due to sections with cross section of larger size of channel extensions in direction perpendicular to axis of first discharge structure. With respect to the through hole, each of the i-th and (i+1)-th sections are displaced relative to each other in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the first discharge structure, with the displacement between them with the possibility of excluding the projection overlapping at rectangular projection of their cross sections on the plane, relative to which the axis of the first discharge structure is perpendicular. Dielectric capillary structure is installed in the hole in the housing end and is equipped with the adjacent metal screen enveloping it from the external side. Anode of commutator is docked with outlet of through hole.
EFFECT: high degree of compression of the primary pulse, high pulse repetition rate to hundreds of kHz while maintaining the pulse compression ratio and maintaining sub-nanosecond duration of the leading edge of the switched pulse; shorter switching time.
