FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: illumination device has a housing with a curved in inner profile for accommodating at least one light source, equipped with corresponding supporting and fastening means and corresponding electric power supply means, and a frame for holding a screen, the screen having a generally concave curvature such that for each principal direction of radiation of the beam of light from said at least one light source, the screen is essentially perpendicular to the direction of said light radiation.

EFFECT: design of an illumination device adapted to optimise the radiation profile without contradicting efficient management of energy scattered by the used light sources.
