SUBSTANCE: method and system/machine comprise a plurality of segments available for navigation, representing the segments of the route available for navigation in the area covered by the map. At that each segment is configured with the ability to have a data on speed associated with it. The method comprises the stages of processing the speed data relating to a plurality of segments of the route, available for navigation, covered by the map, to form a set of generated speed profiles, at that each generated speed profile in the set is approximation to the speed of motion of vehicle for one or more segments of the route available for navigation, and each speed profile is changed in time; and associating of at least one speed profile from the set with the segment available for navigation, in map information.
EFFECT: enhanced functional capabilities.
