FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing protective-decorative coatings on wall ceramic articles involves depositing on the front surface of a ceramic article a slurry of quartz sand, which is finely ground using superplasticiser MB-1 in amount of 0.8-1.0%, plasma melting of said front surface with a plasma jet lying horizontal to the front surface at a distance of 5-8 mm. The plasmatron has operating power of 9.5 kW and the plasma jet moves on the front surface at a speed of 0.30 m/s. Quality of the finished articles is inspected after treatment with the plasma jet.
EFFECT: high strength of adhesion of the protective-decorative coating layer with a base, high frost resistance and low power consumption.
