FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: in the device for measurement of complex coefficients of transmission and reflection of microwave quadripoles comprising a two-frequency source of the first and second coherent test microwave signals and a two-channel superheterodyne receiver, including two input semiconductor microwave mixers and an indicator of ratios of signal levels, in the first and second channels of it they measure the sum and the difference of phase shifts of two semiconductor microwave mixers connected at the inputs of the two-channel superheterodyne receiver. Phase shifts are determined on each of the certified mixers at working frequencies of their test microwave signals and in working points of their current-voltage characteristics. Then, using analytic expressions, relating the phase shift of each microwave mixer with capacitance of p-n transition of its semiconductor diode, this capacitance is calculated for each of two certified microwave mixers. Applying the equality, which relates the differential variation of the value of absolute phase shift of the certified microwave mixer depending on the value of current flowing via the mixing diode with its electric parameters and capacitance of the p-n transition, they calculate the amplitude-phase error of the semiconductor diode of the certified microwave mixer at its working frequency and in the working point of its current-voltage characteristic depending on variation of amplitude of the test microwave signal.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements of complex coefficients of transmission and reflection of microwave quadripoles.
