SUBSTANCE: timber cutting equipment comprises gripping elements (2) for holding a tree trunk, a cutting device (3) for cross-cutting the tree trunk held by the gripping elements (2) and a marking device (10) for applying identification marking on the end surface of the tree trunk crosscut end. The marking device (10) comprises a striking lever (11) equipped with an striking head (12) at its outer free end. The marking device (10) comprises an actuating element (30, 30', 30") for actuating the striking lever (11). The striking lever (11) can be rotated around the axis of rotation (14) under the action of the actuating element (30, 30', 30") from the inoperative position to the striking position in order thereby to allow the striking head (12) to strike on the end surface of the crosscut end of the tree trunk for applying identification marking on the end surface.
EFFECT: with such implementation, the process of applying the identifying marking on the log is simplified and accelerated.
