FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and ship building and can be used for making welded structures. Parts to be welded are located in horizontal plane. Arc welding is performed simultaneously on both sides of butt joint at top and bottom without grooving. One electrode is arranged on every side of the butt. Electrodes are shifted relative to each other in direction of welding arcs. Welding arcs are initiated to displace the electrodes in one direction at equal speed. Welding arc power at every electrode is controlled separately. Front welding arc is arranged at top position. Welding rate and front arc power are selected to ensure 25-35% penetration of the thickness of welded parts. Spacing between electrodes is set to 1.0-1.5 of front arc molten pool length. Rear arc power is set to ensure 85-75% penetration of welded parts thickness.
EFFECT: welding without grooving.
