FIELD: nuclear engineering. SUBSTANCE: emergency cooling tank is connected with pressure part of circulation system by means of additional main, provided with a valve, as well as with gas-vacuum system by means of pipe-line, provided with a valve. After emergency cooling tank is filled with heat-transfer agent, the valve, mounted onto the additional main operates and reactor, is driven into standard circulation mode. Simultaneously heat-transfer agent is pressed over from emergency cooling tank to the space above the zone. A part of emergency cooling tank may be disposed in the space under the zone. Perforated partition may be installed at the mark, disposed between horizontal experimental channel and low cut of active zone. EFFECT: improved reliability; improved nuclear and radiation safety; reduced time for failure removal. 2 cl, 3 cl, 1 dwg
