FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in device and method for induction heat treatment an article is pushed through inductor for the purpose of its induction heat treatment. Inductor has electric power of variable frequency. When frequency is changed then electric power is controlled by adjustment of relative pulse duration and amplitude. Alternatively an article can be fixed while inductor moves along it or combined and coordinated movement of articles and inductor.
EFFECT: changing inverter frequency during adjustment of output power level and controlling frequency of power source in order to obtain optimal induction heating due to control of penetration depth.
