FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of preparing a coal charge for coking involves heating the charge in a hopper with initial moisture content of 3.5-10% to temperature ranging from 35°C to not higher than 100°C. The underlying layers of the charge are heated when the charge is being unloaded from the hopper. The heated charge has packed density of at least 650 kg/m3.
EFFECT: invention simplifies preparation of the charge for coking, reduces the number of reloads and transportations, and improves environmental friendliness of the process.
