FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: air from a coniferous forest is passed at a rate of 40-100 ml/min for 60-180 min through a Drexel bottle with diameter of 30 mm with 50 ml of 96% ethanol to obtain a column of absorbent liquid of at least 40 mm. After collection, the analysed sample is fed into the evaporator of a chromatograph with a 30 m capillary column with inner diameter of 0.25 mm with a stationary phase in form of a film with thickness of 0.25 mcm, containing 5% diphenyl and 95% dimethylsiloxane, and a mass-spectrometer detector operating during electron-impact ionisation in separate ion measurement (SIM) mode. The internal standard used is α-pinene after pre-calibration of the device based thereon.

EFFECT: method for identification and quantitative determination of volatile phytoncides in air.
