FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for detecting electromagnetic radiation has an electromagnetic radiation source, an electrical circuit consisting of an emf source, an ammeter and an electromagnetic radiation receiver with a photosensitive photoresistor. The electromagnetic radiation receiver is in form of a closed cuvette with a window for inputting electromagnetic radiation into the cuvette; inside the cuvette there are two electrodes and a three-dimensional photonic crystal consisting of densely packed monodispersed dielectric spheres that are transparent for the detected electromagnetic radiation, in the pores between which there are ultradispersed particles of a photosensitive semiconductor material - photoresistor. The dimensions of spheres inside the cuvette are comparable with or considerably exceed the wavelength of the detected electromagnetic radiation.
EFFECT: high sensitivity of the electromagnetic radiation receiver.
