FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: method of preventing scale formation on metal surfaces made from ferrous alloy and in contact with the steam-water environment, which causes scale formation, involves exposure of a metal surface to an electric potential in the range from 61V to 150V in order to neutralise the electrostatic force component in the force of adhesion between the metal surface and the colloidal particles and ions forming scale.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and productivity of hot water and steam boilers, increasing the heat transfer efficiency, provision for layer destruction and removal of scale formed, preventing its repeated formation.
