FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: they measure loss of energy of charged particles, which enter and penetrate via a volume or stop inside the volume without penetration through the volume; on the basis of the measured energy loss they determine space distribution of charged particles, which enter and penetrate through the volume or stop inside the volume without penetration through the volume; and the spatial distribution of charged particles energy loss is used for restoration of 3D distribution of materials in the inspected volume.
EFFECT: increased quality of an image that is of volume interest.
