FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a probe, a potentiometer connected by two end contacts with a direct current source. Two electrodes with a circular cross-section are tightly pressed by screws to a board with a sheet of electroconductive paper. The first electrode is connected to the potentiometer slider and the second electrode is connected to one of the end contacts of the potentiometer. The first lead of the voltmeter with high input resistance is connected to the second electrode and the second lead is connected to the probe. Curvilinear rings are made of dielectric material and have a marking on their outer and inner outlines. The ring used from a set is placed on the board with a sheet of electroconductive paper and is pressed by a position fixing device. The Cartesian coordinate system of the board is directed along the sides of the board. The document sheet has a Cartesian coordinate system similar to that of the board. A right-angled triangle is made of dielectric material and serves to transfer coordinates of the probe from the sheet of electroconductive paper to the document sheet.
