FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: installation contains: the first probe; a potentiometer connected by two end contacts to a direct current source; a rectangular table; a removable conductor of circular cross-section; two rectangular electrodes; a voltmeter with a large input resistance, the first input of which is connected to the upper end of the first probe, and the second input to the negative terminal of the direct current source; a stationary ruler fixed on the left side of the rectangular table and which acts as the ordinate axis of the coordinate system of the rectangular table; a guide rod, mounted on the right side of the rectangular table, is parallel to the stationary ruler; an engine mounted movably on the guide rod; a movable ruler, acting as the axis of abscissas of the coordinate system of the rectangular table, one end of which is rigidly fixed to the engine, and the second end lies on the stationary ruler; a slider moving along the movable ruler provided with a mark for counting the position of the first probe on the movable ruler and a vertical hole for the lower end of the first probe; the first removable dielectric template, mounted on a removable conductor of circular cross-section, on which the inner and outer rings with markings and holes are represented. A square sheet of electrically conductive paper is laid on the rectangular table, and the removable conductor with the circular cross-section and an elastic support are mounted on it and the second probe is fixed to the elastic support with the upper end. To select the required operating mode, an amperemeter is installed, the first and the second switches are placed in two positions. The second removable dielectric template is installed on the square sheet of electrically conductive paper, which shows the inner and outer rings with markings and holes for touching the square sheet of electrically conductive paper by the lower end of the first probe. In the center of the second removable dielectric template is located an element of a finite difference grid with zero, first, second, third and fourth nodes with holes. The second probe with the lower end through the zero node with the hole constantly touches the square sheet of electrically conductive paper. To transfer the coordinates of the equipotential electric field lines taken from the square sheet of electrically conductive paper, the installation contains a square documentary sheet made of plain paper and a coordinate system similar to the coordinate system of a rectangular table.
EFFECT: expansion of demonstration possibilities.
