FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coal industry and can be used for analysis of residual methane content and methane release depending upon coal grinding degree. Proposed device comprises cylindrical housing to accommodate coal lump to be analysed and steel balls. Cover with seal ring is fitted in said cover. Stem made integral with said housing is arranged at housing end face. Said stem runs with bush in bearings arranged inside the support. Device is driven by motor via two gears and coupling. Housing is fixed in the support by screw. Bush with hole is fitted in the cover. Spirometer is connected to said bush. Cover is furnished with valve. Spirometer readings are used to define of residual methane content and methane release depending upon coal grinding degree.
