FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to mining, primarily to coal industry, and can be used to determine intensity of methane release from coal burned in lava. Method of predicting the intensity of methane release from coal stripped in the bottomhole involves sampling coal from the massif and from coal burnt in the bottomhole, measuring the content of methane in the collected samples, establishing the minute productivity of the combine and the speed of movement of the conveyor chain along the lava. Coal is sampled from massif before coal is cut by coal cutter, and from broken coal – at preset time intervals of broken coal mass movement along conveyor. At the moment of time count, the beginning of the coal breaker operation begins. Dynamics of natural degassing of broken coal and intensity of methane extraction from it are determined from values of residual methane content of broken coal.
EFFECT: technical result consists in determining intensity of methane release from coal mined by cutter in working face due to detection of dynamics of natural degassing of broken coal and intensity of methane release from it within lava and mine workings.
