FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in low-voltage acceleration equipment, geophysical engineering, particularly when designing pulsed neutron generators for exploration of oil and gas and uranium wells by pulsed neutron logging. The disclosed borehole neutron generator comprises a pulsed neutron tube and a detector, the sensitive element of which is made of a diamond crystal; the detector used is a fast neutron detector; the sensitive element of the fast neutron detector is mounted on the outer side of the sealed casing of the pulsed neutron tube unit in the immediate vicinity of the target of the pulsed neutron tube. Outputs of the sensitive element are connected through a double-wire line to two load resistors; the load resistors are respectively connected to positive and negative bias voltage sources and inputs of a difference signal converter amplifier.
EFFECT: eliminating the measuring error of the pulsed neutron output of a borehole neutron generator, caused by pulses of electromagnetic inference and the effect of accompanying X-ray radiation.
