FIELD: low-voltage acceleration engineering and geophysical instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: pulse tube that may be used, for example, for developing neutron pulse generators for investigating geophysical and commercial boreholes by neutron pulse logging as well as apparatuses for detecting dopes and explosives has sealed evacuated envelope accommodating ion source, ion-optic system, gas absorber, and target saturated with hydrogen nuclides. Newly introduced in tube is alpha-particle detector disposed inside additional electrode placed at certain angle to neutron pulse tube in opposition to target and in close proximity of the latter. Additional electrode functions at the same time as screen of detector sensing element whose injection current lead is connected to additional electrode body and signal current lead is insulated relative to neutron tube case. EFFECT: ability of checking neutrons for escape beyond pulse. 3 cl, 3 dwg
