FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: spiral computed or magnetic resonant brain imaging is formed to visualise an intracranial new growth. Two maximally spaced points are found on an axial scan on the border of the intracranial new growth, connected by a straight line A, and a distance A between the two points is measured. A length h1 of the greatest perpendicular to the line A from an inner table of skull is determined. A length h2 of the greatest perpendicular to the line A form an internal border of the intracranial new growth with a minus sign provided the perpendiculars h1 and h2 are on the same side of the line A, and with a plus sign provided they lie on the different sides. A frontal side is used to determine the two maximally spaced points on the border of the intracranial new growth to be connected by a straight line, and a distance B between the two points is measured. The membrane intracranial new growth volume V is measured by formula: V=π/6×(h13+h23)+π/8×A×B×(h1+h2).
EFFECT: higher accuracy of the membrane intracranial new growth volume calculation ensured by taking into account the individual shape characteristics.
