FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: there are performed spiral computed tomography and/or magnetic resonance brain imaging. A bitemporal distance (BTD), a width of tentorial opening (TO), a diameter of great foramen (GF) are measured in the axial projection. The GF is related to TO and assessed as 1 point, if the value is 0.88 and more, as 2 points - if the value is 0.87-0.85, and 3 points - if the value is 0.84 and less. The GF is related to BTD and assessed as 1 point, if the value is 0.19 and less, as 2 points - if the value is 0.20-0.21, and 3 points - if the value is 0.22 and more. The GF is related to BTD and assessed as 1 point, if the value is 0.22 and less, as 2 points - if the value is 0.23-0.24, and 3 points - if the value is 0.25 and more. The total score is summed up, and the intracranial anatomical reserve is assessed as the minimum, if the total score is 3-4 points; 5-7 points stands for the average anatomical reserve, while the derived total score being 8-9 points means the great anatomical reserve.
EFFECT: method enables assessing the intracranial anatomical reserve in the cerebral dislocation and determination of the time of a surgical intervention: the minimum anatomical reserve is an indication for the immediate surgery, the average reserve requires the delayed surgery, and the great reserve - the planned surgery.
