FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: oxygen in introduced into the gastrointestinal tract through a probe. Oxygen is introduced at volume rate within 10-150 ml a minutes with controlling the gas pressure into the gastrointestinal tract. After the gas pressure has achieved the pre-set value, the oxygen volume rate is reduced within the range, or the oxygen introduction is temporarily stopped. The gas pressure is specified by formula Pgi=P+F·R, wherein P is the input oxygen pressure, F the input oxygen volume rate, and R is an air flow resistance of the probe.
EFFECT: effective and safe increase of the patient's systemic blood oxygenation ensured by gastrointestinal oxygen absorption caused by the slow and prolonged oxygen introduction into the gastrointestinal tract.
