METHOD TO RECORD CORONAL EJECTION OF MASS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G01T1/16

Abstract RU 2506608 C1

FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: provides a method of registering a coronal mass ejection. In the method they observe a spacecraft for the intensity of the proton flux of galactic cosmic rays and link the trend to reduce it to the presence of a coronal mass ejection in the interplanetary space. The intensity of the proton flux of galactic cosmic rays is observed in the energy range from tens to hundreds of MeV simultaneously with at least five spacecraft altitude orbits, which are located from the Earth's surface at the distance of at least 19.0 thousand km. The direction on coronal mass ejection is defined as focused on the solar side of the normal line to the plane formed by the three spacecrafts with the closest intensities to each other of the proton flux of galactic cosmic rays at a given time. The range up to a coronal mass ejection, its size and the speed is set by comparing the intensity of the proton flux of galactic cosmic rays arriving at the closest and farthest points from the coronal mass ejection spacecraft. EFFECT: increased efficiency, obtaining reliable prediction of motion of a coronal mass ejection.
