FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming. Strip 6 is fed to one of mill stands 1-5 with known inlet thickness d1-d4 and leaves mill stand 2-5 with thickness d2-d5. Measurement parameters vR, vW are measured that are typical for strip speed v1-v4 on inlet side and speed v2-v5 on outlet side. Measured parameters vR, vW are used to define strip speed v1-v4 and v2-v5. On the basis of inlet depth d1-d4, speed v1-v4 and speed v2-v5 defined is strip depth d2-d5. Measured parameter vW for strip speed v1-v4 can be represented by roll circumferential speed vW at mill stand 1-4 ahead of stand 2-5. Advance of strip 6 in appropriate mill stand 2-5 is simulated. Appropriate strip speed v1-v5 is defined on the basis of appropriate circumferential speed vR of rolls and strip advance at appropriate mill stand 1-5.
EFFECT: perfected control over rolling mill.
