FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: according to the proposed method, sound signals or vibrations are determined by means of casing-type sound sensors (22) from the internals of furnace housing (12), out of which parameters can be obtained for distribution of molten metal, melt and slag in the furnace filling volume. First of all, SM parameter for thermal emission occurring on the furnace housing wall, M parameter for lumpiness of molten metal in the furnace filling volume and MM parameter for the change of a molten metal fraction located at the furnace wall is determined. In compliance with the invention it is provided that by means of control system (21) at evaluation of parameters, preferably energy distribution on electrodes (13) is changed so that thermal load peaks are weakened or their occurrence is prevented. For that purpose, impedances of branches, which are saved as specified values, are modified. If that control is not enough, then thermal power of electric arcs is reduced.

EFFECT: quick and reliable implementation of an existing operating mode for processes in an electric-arc furnace.
