SUBSTANCE: list display device is capable of arranging images of items contained in part of a list in a defined scrolling direction and displaying images of items from that part of the list on a screen. The device is also capable of moving images of items in the scrolling direction at a rate corresponding to a scrolling command from a user, and subsequently displaying images of items not displayed on the screen by moving those images of items in the scrolling direction within the boundaries of the screen. When moving a re-displayed image of an item in the scrolling direction within the boundaries of the screen, part of the images of items is moved in a transverse direction which crosses the scrolling direction from beyond the boundaries of the screen to within the boundaries of the screen at a defined rate.

EFFECT: reduced load on the display process when scrolling.
