FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: mobile communication system performs transmission and reception of control signals between a mobile station and a mobile communication switching centre through a first radio link set up between the mobile station and a relay node, a second radio link set up between the relay node and a radio base station, and a wire link set up between the radio base station and the mobile communication switching centre. The relay node includes a first radio link functional module, a second radio link functional module and a first layer functional module which is an upper layer functional module for the second radio link functional module. The radio base station includes a second radio link functional module, a wire link functional module, a first layer functional module and a second layer functional module which is an upper layer functional module for the wire link functional module. The mobile communication switching centre includes a wire link functional module and a second layer functional module.
EFFECT: enabling a mobile station to transmit control signals to a mobile communication switching centre and receive said signals from said centre through devices which include the same functional modules as the radio base station.
