FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: this invention aims at increasing the quality of pipe inner surface, durability of mandrels in pipe rolling and can be used in lengthwise rolling at mandrels with process lubricants applied on pipe inner surface. This method comprises forcing lubricant by air into pipe-sleeve at the angle to pipe-sleeve generatrix. Lubricant is fed by atomiser arranged outside the pipe-sleeve outer surface at the mill inlet side in the line of its lengthwise displacement over roll table in horizontal plane crossing the pipe-sleeve axis at negative feed angle of 10-20 degrees to its generatrix with the help of air at constant air of 0.4-0.5 MPa during lengthwise displacement and sleeve turn about its axis from lubricant feed moment to start of rolling.

EFFECT: higher uniformity of lubricant distribution over pipe-sleeve inner surface.
