FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for production of billets for forming articles in solid-liquid state, for example, by moulding. Proposed device comprises teeming flask with cover and gate, inclined chutes for discharge of the melt portion discharge into blank production barrels. To protect billet metal against oxygen, all elements of the device are encased in chamber with liquid metal teeming and gas discharge opening. Said chamber is equipped with bellows to allow replacement of into blank production barrels with thixobillets and their removal from the area of final crystallisation. To feed inert gas in zones of melt displacement into said barrels, sleeve is mounted in said chamber. Sleeve is fitted at chamber bottom section for inert gas feed therein.
EFFECT: process staged in inert medium to decrease chances of oxide formation, higher quality of billets.
