FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of items with a water solution of a mixture of potassium and sodium hydroxides with concentration of 500-600 g/dm3 at the ratio of 80-90% KOH and 10-20% NaOH at temperature of 140-160°C and atmospheric pressure. Items are partially submerged into a circulating treatment solution, and onto the non-submerged part of the items the treatment solution is supplied in jets from atomisers. Mutual location of atomisers and items is changed during treatment due to back-and-forth or rotational movement of the items.
EFFECT: accelerating a cleaning process of casts from ceramic rods without any damage to surface of casts.
