FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. Implementing the method is accompanied by recording two differential pulsograms simultaneously of two pulsating body surface areas above the arteries being examined. A distance L of these areas is determined. A pulse wave travel time Δt is derived from a cardiac cycle diagram shift of the two pulsograms. A pulse wave velocity V is calculated by formula V=L/Δt. A device comprises two piezoelectric detectors, an interface circuit, a computer and a monitor. The interface circuit comprises two amplifiers, an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), a galvanic isolation unit, a conversion unit, a matching unit and a reference voltage source.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables simplifying the method by avoiding ECG recording, and providing higher accuracy of determining the pulse wave velocity of the blood pressure along the aorta and greater arterial vessels.
