FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: electrodes connected to a rheograph are placed in the most accessible place of a human body to record its electrical signals, the amplitude of which is proportional to a tissue blood filling value. Thereafter, the electrical signal is transformed into a harmonic constituent set which is used to recover harmonics each of which corresponds to a certain section of great vessels. A peak apex distance is measured in each harmonics to derive a data array for construction of histograms used to estimate the pulse wave travel time in the arterial system. The pulse wave velocity is determined by the relation 2L/T, wherein L is a length of the great vessel corresponding to the certain harmonic, while T is the direct and reflected pulse wave travel total time.
EFFECT: method enables measuring the pulse wave velocity in the screening mode to obtain reliable information at the patient minimum emotional load by recording the pulse wave form in a single point of the body by means of the rheograph.
