FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention belongs to area of contactless research of a surface of metals by optical methods, namely to a method to measure length of distribution of superficial plasmons, directed by this surface. The method includes measurement of intensity of radiation along a track of plasmons and calculation of value of length of distribution by results of measurements. Thus they carry out measurement of intensity of the volume radiation generated by plasmons on natural irregularities of the surfaces, which represent statistically evenly distributed variances of optical constants and roughness. Measurements are carried out outside of a plasmon field.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements.
