FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural materials operated at high temperature and in oxidising medium and can be used in chemical, petrochemical industries, metallurgy etc. Blank from porous graphitised carbon is placed along with crucibles with silicon inside retort oven. Threes are heated in vacuum or at barometric pressure in argon or silicon vapours to 1700-1900°C, held at said temperature and pressures for 1-3 h and cooled down. Note here that portion of crucibles with silicon are arranged at tooling to be fitted inside siliconised blank. Then, said blank is closed provided it has machining allowances at its ends and covered by discs in case there no said allowances to ensure clearance of at least 2 mm between said ends and blank. Crucibles with silicon are placed on discs nearby blank edges. Blank is cooled in silicon vapours. Weight of tooling and crucibles with silicon is greater than that if siliconised blank some 4 to 10 times.
EFFECT: higher degree and homogeneity of siliconising, reproducible results.
