FIELD: refractory industry.

SUBSTANCE: production of large-sized ceramic crucibles based on quartz glass for crystallizing purification and growing crystals of semiconductor germanium and silicon. The method for manufacturing quartz crucibles includes obtaining a highly concentrated suspension of quartz glass, its stabilization, molding a ceramic crucible by casting into a porous form, applying synthetic silicon dioxide using slip casting, drying and firing. According to the invention, at the stabilization stage, aluminum oxide nanofibers are introduced into the quartz glass suspension in the form of an aqueous or aqueous-alcohol suspension in an amount of 0.05 to 0.15 wt.% by weight of the solid phase.

EFFECT: increasing the mechanical strength of quartz crucibles.
