FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: device for automatic regulation of regenerative brake for direct-current locomotive contains an exciter-generator to which outputs in-series excitation windings of the locomotive traction machines are connected. Control input of this exciter is connected to the output of automatic regulation system which is composed of current sensors for each armature winding of the locomotive traction machines, a current sensor for in-series excitation windings and a locomotive speed sensor and also the master element included into the master controller with switching of stabilisation modes for the preset speed of the locomotive or the preset current of armature windings, comparing elements of the master element output signals and the above sensors, a logic unit and a proportional-integral link which output is connected to the input of the exciter control. There is also an additional unit computing the ratio of average current value for armature windings to exciting current and a unit computing the difference of the maximum and minimum current values of armature windings for traction machines. At that the first unit output is connected to the additional channel limiting the preset limit value above the ratio and the second unit output is connected to the comparing element in the exciting current regulation channel and an electropneumatic valve switching on sand delivery to the locomotive wheels.

EFFECT: improving reliability of the generator mode for electric traction machines during recuperation.
