FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: adaptive sensor contains a sensitive plate formed by an inductance coil, a capacitance metal plate and two infrared optical receivers, a NEITHER-NOR gate, an AND gate, the first and second display units, the first and second diodes and joining point of their cathodes and the second input of the NEITHER-NOR gate is the first output of the adaptive sensor, a trigger flip-flop which direct and inverse outputs are respectively the second and third output terminals of the adaptive sensor. When unheated metal and unheated non-metal articles are moved in one or opposite direction in regard to the sensitive plate of the adaptor sensor potential voltage data signals are generated at its first output with logic level "1" which contain data about position control of unheated metal and unheated non-metal articles while at the second and third outputs two-digit binary codes of identification equal to 10 and 01 are generated for the above articles.
