SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 4-[(3-ethoxy-3-oxopropanoyl)amino]benzoic acid. The method involves reacting diethyl ether of malonic acid with 4-aminobenzoic acid while heating in the presence of an organic solvent. The organic solvent used is an aromatic solvent selected from toluene or o-xylene; the process is carried out at boiling point of the reaction mass (120-150°C) for 2-5 hours with molar ratio of 4-aminobenzoic acid and ethyl ether of malonic acid of 1:4, followed by separation of the end product.
EFFECT: method cuts the duration of the process, lowers the temperature thereof and increases the output of the end product.
